Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha es la personificación de los votos de todos los Budas, y simboliza el dharmakaya omnipresente de este gran.  El Bodhisattva lleva la corona de los Cinco Budas sobre su cabeza, que simboliza los méritos obtenidos del Dharmakaya;  las serpentinas con "Om mani padme hum" al lado de las orejas que simbolizan la gran simpatía del Buda sambhogakaya por todos, el gran voto de salvar y liberar a los seres sintientes;  los trece ornamentos que adornan el cuerpo del Bodhisattva que simbolizan las virtudes perfectas de todas y cada una de las treinta y siete prácticas del Bodhisattva hacia la iluminación (bodhi-pakşaka).  Como sabio de la tierra de la fructificación, el Buda Ksitigarbha ya está incrustado en la naturaleza del dharma (dharmata).

지장보살은 모든 제불원력의 발현으로 무처부재한 법신대사를 대표한다. 지장보살이 머리에 쓴 오불관은 이미 증득한 법신의 공덕을 의미하며, 귀 옆에 단 “옴마니반메훔” 띠는 보신불 대비가 널리 보급되어 중생을 제도하고자 하는 대원을 의미하며, 몸에 걸친 열 세 가지 옷은 지장보살이 삼십칠도품을 모두 갖추었음을 의미한다. 지장보살은 수행으로 부처에 이른 성자로 이미 법성에 깊이 들어가 있다.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is the embodiment of vows of all Buddhas, symbolizing the omnipresent dharmakaya of this great one. The Bodhisattva wears the Five-Buddha crown upon his head, symbolizing the attained merits of the dharmakaya; the streamers with “Om mani padme hum” at the side of the ears symbolizing the sambhogakaya Buddha’s great sympathy for all, the great vow to save and liberate sentient beings; the thirteen ornaments which adorn the Bodhisattva’s body symbolizing the perfect virtues of each and every one of the Bodhisattva’s thirty-seven practices to enlightenment (bodhi-pakşaka). As a sage of the fruition ground, the Ksitigarbha Buddha is already embedded within the dharma-nature (dharmata).   

地藏菩萨是一切诸佛愿力的体现，代表无处不在的法身大士。菩萨头戴五佛冠，代表已经证得了法身的功德；耳边“唵嘛呢呗美吽”的飘带，代表报身佛大悲普及一切、救度众生的大愿；菩萨身上的十三种报饰，代表菩萨三十七道品每一德行的具足。地藏菩萨作为果地的圣者，已经深入到法性之中。
