回向功德很重要——《永恒的甘露》传喜法师开示录三十九

　　《楞严经》 里观世音菩萨自己说: “ 由我供养观音如来,蒙彼如来,授我如幻,闻熏闻修,金刚三昧,与佛如来,同慈力故,令我身成三十二应,入诸国土……获十四种无畏功德……又能善获四不思议,无作妙德。 ”观世音菩萨这样说, 文殊菩萨又出来证明, 释迦牟尼佛也点头印可。 这里世尊在 《妙法莲华经·观世音菩萨普门品》 里又亲自来赞叹观世音菩萨, 要知道诸佛菩萨的果地功德是不可思议的。 那天我给你们授三皈依后, 为什么要回向众生? “皈依功德殊胜行, 无边胜福皆回向,普愿沉溺诸众生, 速往无量光佛刹。” 皈依三宝有无边的胜福, 因为皈依里面就有皈依观世音菩萨, 单单受持观世音菩萨的名号, 就能得如是无量无边福德之利, 何况我们皈依十方三世一切佛、 一切法、 一切贤圣僧! 所以我们要把无边的胜福, 回向给沉溺在苦海里的一切如母有情。

In the Shurangama Sutra, Guan Yin Bodhisattva said Himself, ‘Because I served and made offerings to the Guan Yin Thus Come One, I received from that Thus Come One a transmission of the Vajra Samadhi of being permeated with and practicing through hearing the illusion sounds. Because I gained the power of compassion identical to that of all Buddhas, I attained thirty-two response-bodies and became able to enter all lands…I acquired the fourteen virtues of fearlessness… and I acquired four wonderful natural virtues.’ That was what Guan Yin Bodhisattva said, which was approved by Manjusri Bodhisattva, while Sakyamuni Buddha nodded His head in agreement. Here, in the Universal Gate Chapter of the Lotus Sutra, the Buddha praised Guan Yin Bodhisattva again in person, so that we could believe that the merits and virtues of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas on the fruit ground are incredible. Why did we dedicate merits to all sentient beings after the ceremony of taking the Three Refuges? ‘May the boundless, incredible credits and blessedness of the wonderful deeds of taking refuge transfer to all sentient beings, and may all the lost sentient beings be reborn in the Pure Land of Amitabha?’ Taking refuge in the Three Jewels allows you to gain boundless credits and blessedness. As we’ve taken refuge in the Three Jewels, we’ve already taken refuge in Guan Yin Bodhisattva. Only by invoking the name of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, can we acquire countless and boundless blessedness, not to speak of our taking refuges in all the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha in ten directions of the past, present and future. Therefore, we should transfer the boundless and incredible blessedness to all the maternal sentient beings that are lost in the sea of suffering.
