什么是无漏的福报——《永恒的甘露》传喜法师开示录三十七

　　这次我从普照寺出来,普照寺有一个护法居士是深圳一家证券公司的总裁,他想每年拿出五百万来做好事,不得了了吧?但如果他是以世间的发心来做的话,纵使是五千万、五个亿也是有漏的福报。 但是, 受持观世音菩萨名号, 乃至一时礼拜供养, 这是无漏的福报,无漏的福报 “于百千万亿劫不可穷尽”。 “劫” 是一个天文数字, 我们就是相信, 脑子里也形成不了概念, 因为我们是凡夫, 凡夫的思维是相当有限的。 所以佛一出世, 不敢讲这样的了义经, 讲这样的经大家不相信, 反而会因疑而堕落三恶道。 所以佛初转法轮时, 先讲大家听得懂的, 讲我们看得见的, 讲我到底在哪里——诸法无我；讲世间法有什么规律——诸行无常, 让我们通过思维这些法来破我们的实执。

I visited Puzhao Temple recently. There is a lay Buddhist who is the CEO of a securities company in Shenzhen.) He wished to donate five million yuan every year for charity. It is amazing, isn’t it? However, if he does it with a worldly intention, he will only acquire impure blessedness, even if he donates fifty million or five hundred million. On the other hand, if one upholds the name of Guan Yin Bodhisattva and bows to worship and makes offerings to Him once, the blessedness he acquires is pure and it will not deplete in billions of kalpas. Kalpa is an enormous figure that is beyond our comprehension. Even if we believe in it, it is hard for us to conceptualise the idea because we are all ordinary beings with fairly limited thinking ability. Therefore, the Buddha did not preach a sutra containing the teaching of the whole truth, with the concern that people would not believe it and may might fall into the three lower realms due to their doubts . This is why, during the first stage of turning the Dharma wheel, the Buddha only preached what people could understand and see : for example, where is ‘self’ – all phenomena are without a self; what are the rules of worldly phenomena - all conditioned phenomena are in a state of constant change. The Buddha taught us how to break our real attachments through the dharma.
