英文时分：《永恒的甘露》--《妙法莲华经—普门品》讲记（十八） 传喜法师宣讲

　　1 9 9 0 年广州的飞机失事也是一个例子: 一架从厦门到广州的班机, 有三个佛弟子买了机票以后, 都感到说不出的不舒服, 有一种不祥之感, 彼此看到对方的脸也都是灰扑扑的。 他们三个人就到南普陀寺打了一堂消灾延寿的普佛, 普佛之后, 身心就感到舒服了。 上了飞机不久, 广播里就传来飞机被劫持的消息, 飞机在上空转啊转,僵持了有两个多小时。 他们几个听说飞机被劫持, 就一直称念观世音菩萨名号, 求观音大士保佑。其中一位居士很明晰地看到观世音菩萨站在空中的圆光里, 他身心就很安定。飞机燃油耗尽了, 迫降在广州白云机场, 当飞机降到地面, 大家都松了口气, 高兴地欢呼起来。 突然旁边一架飞机降落, 钩到了这架飞机的机翼, 飞机失去了控制, 倾斜、 燃烧、 断成了两截, 正好在这三位居士的前面断开。

　　当时飞机浓烟滚滚, 他们三个人就从裂口处跑了出来, 接着就听到飞机猛烈的爆炸声。 那次的空难也是很惨, 死了很多人, 连飞机的铁都烧化了, 而他们三个竟然从大火里跑出来, 甚至都没有受伤, 很奇特。后来新闻记者去采访他们: 这种情况下生存的可能性太小了, 你们是怎么跑出来的? 原来他们三个都是佛教徒, 而且在这个事件中, 他们已提前感受到了众生的共业, 后来去做了一场消灾免难的佛事。 更奇特的是在换登机牌时, 有一个旅游团的导游抢在他们前面换了 1 1 张票, 而飞机就在他们的座位前断裂了,他们才从断裂处跑了出来。 在清理飞机残骸的过程中发现: 飞机的机身都烧化了, 但是这三个居士行李里的经书却都完好无损。

　　这个空难事件也验证了经书烧不掉的事实, 连莲池大师造的 《竹窗随笔》 也没烧掉, 莲池大师是八地菩萨。 这也是“设入大火, 火不能烧” 的一个例子, 当时报纸都登出来了。

Another example is found in the aviation accident in Guangzhou that happened in 1998. Three Buddhists were going to take a flight from Xiamen to Guangzhou. However,for no reason, they felt very uncomfortable and inauspicious after they booked the flight. They even found their faces to be of a gloomy appearance.Therefore, they went to the South Putuo Temple to participate in a dharma gathering that helps to ward off calamities and to prolong longevity, after which they felt relieved. Soon after they boarded, it was announced that the plane was hijacked. The situationwas in a stalemate while the plane had to keep circling in the sky for more than two hours. As soon as they heard the announcement, they started chanting the name of Guan Yin Bodhisattva and prayed for His blessing. One of them clearly saw the Bodhisattva standing in a halo of the sky. Both his body and mind were eased. In the end, the plane ran out of petrol and was forced to land at Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou. Everyone was relieved and rejoiced. Suddenly, another plane also landed, it bumped into the wing of their plane. Their plane started to lose control, tilted, caught fire and broke into two parts at the point right in front of the seats of the three Buddhists.

They immediately escaped from the crack in the plane through heavy smoke. Soon after they escaped, they heard a loud noise of explosion. It was a dreadful atrocity. Many people lost their lives. Even the steel of the body of the plane melted. However, those three Buddhists successfully escaped from the accident and the fire without any injuries. How amazing it was! Afterwards they were interviewed by journalists and asked how they managed to escape. As well known, the likelihood of surviving in such an accident is extremely low. They answered that they were Buddhists and they sensed the collective karma earlier and thus participated in a dharma gathering for blessing. More surprisingly, when they were about to get their boarding passes, a tour guide jumped the queue and took eleven passes before they got theirs. It turned out that the plane broke at the location just in front of them, so that they were able to escape from the crack of the plane.Furthermore, when clearing the wreckage of the plane, it was found that the sutras in the three Buddhists’ luggages were intact despite the fact that the main body of the plane had melted.

This aviation accident proved the truth that Buddhist sutras will not get burnt. Even <Notes Written by the Bamboo Window> by Venerable Master Lian Chi was intact after the accident. He was a Bodhisattva of the eighth ground. This is another example of “falling into a great fire but not getting burnt”, which was reported in the newspaper then.
