万法唯“心”造 Everything Is Made From the Mind Alone

　　古人有言：善人有善神跟随，恶人有恶鬼跟随。确确实实是这个道理。什么自尊、自私等等不好的心态都不能有，如果起了一念不善心，多少恶劣的众生就跟上了，你的心念跟它一样嘛，它就有机会相应上来了。天台宗讲“一念起则落一法界”，到底是佛、菩萨法界，还是声闻、缘觉法界，还是我们这个六道法界，都依你的一个心念而起，所以在起心动念处特别要注意。
　　我们的心就像个灵巧的工画师，画得太活灵活现了，反被自己的作业所迷惑，以假为真了。万法唯心，唯心所造的十法界都不是真的，实际上并不存在，所以不要执著表相。所以大家要知道：只要心清净到处都是佛地，众生有业障到处有地狱，天堂地狱都是自己的心造作的。作为佛弟子，我们一定要明白这个道理，要这样去修持。

Ancient Chinese said: good people are followed by good-hearted deva whilst evil people are followed by demon. It is proved to be true. We should not hold negative attitude such as pride and selfishness. Once an evil thought rises in your mind, countless sentient beings are able to follow you. As your mind resonates with theirs they get the chance to respond to you. The Tiantai School states “As soon as one thought rises you fall into a Dharma Realm”. Whatever Dharma Realm you fall into, the Dharma Realm of Buddhas, the Dharma Realm of Bodhisattvas, the Dharma Realm of the Those Enlightened to Conditions, the Dharma Realm of Hearers or the Six Dharma Realm, depends on one subtle thought rising in your mind. So we should be aware of our mind and thought.

Our mind is like a versatile painter composing a vivid and lively painting. As a result he is deluded by his painting taking it as real. Everything is made from the mind alone. Though made by the mind, Ten Dharma Realms actually do not exist. So there is no need to attach yourselves to the phenomenon. Therefore, we should know: as long as our mind is pure and tranquil everywhere is the land of Buddhas; if we still have evil karma and sins, for us hell is everywhere; heaven and hell are created by our mind. As Buddhists, we are supposed to understand this and to cultivate ourselves according to this.
