诸供养中，法供养为最——传喜法师

　　施舍钱财济贫救苦的功德虽高，但只能解决众生今生今世暂时的饥饿贫困，施舍的福报也只是等质的物质财富。如果自己学习佛法，并向众生宣传佛法，进行法施，启迪智慧，能使自己和别人认识真理，分清善恶，抑恶扬善，摆脱烦恼和痛苦，走上正道，获得长远的幸福，其功德自然远胜过物质施舍功德。

Although saving the poor from suffering by wealth giving results in meritorious virtues, it is only able to temporarily solve the issue of famine and poverty in this life. Also the blessings of such giving will bring you equal material wealth in return. If you learn about the dharma and promote it to all sentient beings, you are practicing the giving of the dharma. Consequently both you and they will be awakened; you will know the truth and distinguish good from evil; you will inhibit vice and promote virtue and you will be free from afflictions and agony; you will walk on the right path and attain long-term happiness. So there is no doubt that the giving of Dharma surpasses the giving of wealth.
