悉达多太子放弃王位，出家修行。证悟后第一句话就说:“一切众生皆具如来智慧德相，皆因妄想执着不能证得。”人都活在自己的妄想当中，你的眼、耳、鼻、舌、身，整个感官都处在虚妄的状态，就不能体验到当下的真理。
Prince Siddhartha gave up his throne and left home-life for cultivation. When he became enlightened, this was the first word he said: “All sentient beings possess wisdom and virtues, but these are not realised due to illusions and attachments.”
When people are lost in the illusions of sight, sound, smell, taste and sense, they will never be able to realise the ultimate truth.
我们这个心，我们这个感受就随着这些因缘，随着外在的这些东西在变化，而这些现象是没有真实性的。既然没有真实性的，就要超越它，就像镜子不会被外在的相所伤到，让生命稳定下来，去寻求真实的。
Our mind and feelings are subject to changes along side our external conditions and environment, which have no intrinsic reality. Knowing this, we should transcend fleeting phenomena with a firm resolve, remaining detached from the external phenomenon. It is just like the reflection in the mirror which will never be harmed by external phenomena.We should settle our mind in search of the ultimate truth.
没有契合入我们的真如本体当中的话，每一个人都是生死苦海当中的流浪汉。不管我们手里把握的是钻石还是黄金，还是一无所有的外在状态，都是一个贫穷的流浪汉。
Without the realisation of our Buddha-nature, one is a vagrant in the bitter sea of birth and death; even if we hold diamonds and gold in our hands, we own nothing.
