心灵小憩：英文时分（一切恭敬；切莫妄加比较）

　　1.对三宝形象千万不要生邪见，一定要恭敬，否则你业障重了。印光大师说的“只看好样子，莫看坏样子，只管自家，不要管别人。”印光大师很慈悲的，我师父也强调只管自己，不要东打听西打听的，烦恼从中生。所以在座的，大家要多讲佛教里殊胜的，讲那些大善知识。不要讲不好的，不要损毁三宝形象，不要破坏三宝形象。在外面看到不好的当作没看到，自己念经忏悔。

　　修行只看好样子，好样子还有啊！我们汉传佛教有，藏传佛教也有，上座部佛教也有。好的你都学不过来，任哪一位挑出来，你一辈子都学不过来，生生世世要学的。你要不好的，那你着魔了。千万不要去讲那些不好的，佛教有社会现象。

　　一切恭敬，地藏经忏就讲“一切恭敬”，然后忏，每一尊佛拜一拜，间隔的时候都要唱这一句，一遍一遍地反复。这是个窍门，我师父再三强调，告诉我们“一切恭敬”。恭敬就是了，保护你自己的心不要受污染。因为恭敬心是美妙的心，有功德的，不好的不要闻，充耳不闻。

　　Being respectful, only see the things in its bright side, not in its dark side. Respecting the meaning of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha thoroughly from our heart and having not a single immoral opinion on them so as to reduce our obstacles. “Only see the things in its bright side, not in its dark side, try your best to do whatever you have to and not care about others.” said by Master Yinguang who has the quality of mercy. My teacher emphasized the same opinion as well, in case of not having too much trouble. So it is better for everyone here to bring out more extraordinary and great knowledge of Buddhism. Do not point out the negative examples, do not destroy the image of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Chant sutras and express penitence even in a chaotic environment, and pretend to see nothing.

　　And this is our practice, to learn the positive examples. We can find them in Mahayana Buddhism, Lamaism, and Theravada Buddhism. It’s not enough for you to take a whole life to study any one of them, to repeat the study in many life times to come. Pursuing and spreading the negative news are kinds of enchantment. We shall not focus on a few negative examples of Buddhism practioners which is a social phenomenon .

　　Being respectful all the time. Earth Store Sutra Repentance is all about “Being respectful and penitent all the time”. Worship every statue of Buddha, and chant this sentence repeatedly. This is a knack, my teacher always emphases that being respectful all the time. Make sure to have a pure heart. Practicing with this constantly present devotion, this is the sense of merits and virtues, that is, turn a deaf ear to the negative.

　　2.这个世界就是这样的，不比道德比收入，不比善良比造业。我们修行人不能这样，我们要比修行，我今天修了多少？比念佛，我今天念了多少？我们不能散散慢慢地念佛，拿起念佛珠或者计数器，要给自己规定功课，我师父这样子高僧大德还给自己规定，一天念佛一万声。请问：我们在座的给自己规定功课的有多少？所以，我们要自我警醒，不是八关斋戒明天就没有了，既然这是好的行为，对自己对世界都有利，那我们就要天天这样做，天天念佛念法念僧，念戒念天念师，我们还要念众生的苦。

　　Nowadays we live in the society that people compare income rather than morality and compare creating negative karma rather than doing good. As Buddhism practitioners, we shall not compare with other people in such a way. We shall compare to practice Buddhism and chant the name of Buddha, and ask ourselves how much we have done to practice Buddhism and how many times we have chanted the name of Buddha. We shall not carelessly chant the name of Buddha. On the contrary, we shall discipline ourselves to chant the name of Buddha for a certain amount of times with the help of Buddha heads or a counter. Eminent monk like my master disciplined himself to chant the name of Buddha for 10 thousand times per day. May I ask how many of you discipline yourselves to do this? We shall let ourselves be alert that Eight Buddhist Precepts will not disappear in the next day. As long as it’s a good practice not only for ourselves but also for the whole world, we shall keep on practicing Buddhism Dharma, chanting the name of Buddha, taking precepts, thinking of the Sangha and master, and being compassionate to all sentient beings in daily life.
