普贤菩萨的坐骑六牙白象，白象代表精进，六牙代表六度波罗蜜。白象的四足，大而稳，普贤菩萨坐在六度波罗蜜上，不动不摇，稳如泰山。

我们佛弟子只要能在修行路上如法实修，不退初心，既而更能发起大乘心，不畏艰辛，象行徐步，稳重前行。

普贤菩萨说：“我会为你摩顶，给你加持，令你增上。”

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's mount is a white elephant with six teeth. The white elephant represents diligence, and the six teeth represent the six perfections of paramita. The four legs of the white elephant are strong and stable. Samantabhadra Bodhisattva sits upright on the six perfections of paramita, unmoving and unshakable, as stable as Mount Tai.

As long as we Buddhist disciples can practice the Dharma properIy and never retreat from the original aspiration,  we will be more confidant to initiate the Mahayana mind, with no fear to any hardships encoutered. We walk slowly  and move forward steadily.

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said: "I will lay my hand on top of your head to bless you and help you to gain progress and success."

La monture de Samantabhadra est un éléphant blanc à six défenses. L'éléphant blanc symbolise l'endurance, et ses six défenses représentent les six Perfections de la Paramita. Les quatre pattes de l'éléphant sont costaud et stables, ce qui permettent au Bodhisattva de s'installer solennellement au dessus des six Paramita, stable et inébranlable comme le mont Tai.

我々の仏教の、普賢菩薩(ふげんぼさつ)はどんな特色があるんでしょうか。

その最大の特色は、｢サボらず（精進する）、厭(いと)わず、後退せず｣ということです。

普賢菩薩(ふげんぼさつ)は、六牙白象(ろくげのびゃくぞう)（六つの牙(きば)をもった白い象）に騎乗(きじょう)されています。白象(はくぞう)は、精進の意味で、六(ろく)牙(げ)は、六波羅蜜(ろくはらみつ)のこと（布施(ふせ)、持戒(じかい)、忍辱(にんにく)、精進(しょうじん)、禅定(ぜんじょう)、知恵(ちえ)）を意味しています。白象(はくぞう)の四本の足は、大きくて穏やかで、普賢菩薩(ふげんぼさつ)が六度(ろくど)の波羅蜜(はらみつ)の上に乗って、確固(かっこ)不動(ふどう)で、泰山(たいざん)のように揺るがなく安定しています。

私たちの仏弟子(ぶつでし)は修行の道で如法(にょほう)修行(しゅぎょう)（仏の教法にかなって修行する）し、初志を忘れさえしなければ、その上にさらに大乗(だいじょう)の菩提(ぼだい)心(しん)を発心でき、困難をものともせずに徐行(じょこう)し、穏やかに進んでいけます。

普賢菩薩(ふげんぼさつ)はこう仰いました。「わたしは、きっとあなたに摩頂(まちょう)（仏菩薩などが授記、付属などのために頭をなでること）を授(さず)け、加持(かじ)を与え、向上させてあげるよ」と。
