This Is the Most Supreme Dharma and the Greatest Blessing
If a disciple earnestly follows their master, over time, the master will naturally guide them. Just as our Master manifested in this world like Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, he preserved the lifeblood of Chinese Buddhism. To have someone safeguarding this lineage is no small feat; it is something truly remarkable.
“见、礼、瞻、行”
Therefore, we must cherish this deeply. The bond between master and disciple is rooted in the Dharma. In Buddhism, the various teachings serve as bridges of communication between master and disciple. The Dharma itself has no inherent distinctions of superiority or inferiority. However, many who learn the Dharma from their master often regard the quantity of teachings they acquire as a badge of honor. In doing so, they overlook the foundational purpose of the Dharma, which is cultivating the mind of renunciation to transcend birth and death. Instead, they unwittingly feed their ego and attachment to the Dharma as if nurturing a great demon. They end up viewing their master merely as a decorative aura rather than a true guide.
