禅悦人生——复旦大学总裁班慧日禅寺体验之旅随记（下）

In the morning on 3 August, 2014

台风已经完全过境

Typhoon had passed through our territory.

阳光灿烂 长空如洗
The sun was bright and the sky was clear.

寺院内殿宇房舍干净得一尘不染

The halls in the temple were spotlessly clean.

树木花草格外地明媚鲜妍

The flower plants and trees were extremely beautiful.

来慧日寺三天的时间

In the three days in Huiri Temple,

学员们经历了三种不同的气象

disciples had experienced three different kinds of weather.

来的那天大风大雨

On the first day, it rained heavily with strong winds;

第二天有风无雨

on the second day, only the wind blew;

今天无风无雨

today there is neither wind nor rain

阳光倾洒万物

and the sunlight shines on the whole world.

天气的变化

The change of weather

恰好象征了三种不同的

symbolizes three different

人生境界

stages of life.

在三圣殿广场前端的中央

In the front center of the main hall

矗立着一座庄严的慧日塔

stands a solemn Huiri Pagoda.

学佛之后

We have learnt from Buddhism

才知道佛塔也称为浮屠

that Buddhist pagoda is also called stupa

用来供奉和安置舍利

which is built for enshrining Buddhist relics,

经卷以及各种佛教法物

scriptures and various Buddhist treasures.

有的佛塔还会刻有建塔碑记

Some of the pagodas were inscribed with the history

圣像以及佛经

of the construction, sacred statues and sutras.

眼前的这座七层石制佛塔

The stone pagoda in front of us is of seven stories

呈四方形

with a square shape.

曾听法师介绍过

The Master has introduced before

这座佛塔非常殊胜

it is an extraordinary pagoda

藏有千部《华严经》

which contains a thousand copies of Flower Adornment Sutra

和千座华严塔

and a thousand miniatures of Flower Adornment pagodas.

慧日寺内还有七层八角的

In Huiri Temple, there is a seven-storey Filial Piety Pagoda

孝亲报恩大塔

with octagonal shape,

和多宝塔 千佛塔

Treasure Pagoda, Thousand-Buddha Pagoda,

甘露塔 光明塔

Nectar Pagoda and the Bright Pagoda.

佛教里有很多的方便法门

In Buddhism, there are many convenient practices.

虔诚地绕塔

Circumambulating the pagoda devoutly

就可以消灭无量劫生死重罪

will eradicate immeasurable crimes

培植出世间广大福德

and cultivate great virtues in this world.

由此佛教的慈悲

We can therefore feel how compassion

和殊胜可见一斑

and extraordinary the Buddhism is.

上午九时 慧日禅寺光明楼内

At 9 am, in the Bright Hall of Huiri Temple,

寺院生活的见闻和心得

our thoughts and impressions on the 2-day temple experience.

这两天来

In the past two days,

法师几乎举寺院之全力

the Master spent all efforts in

尽心招待学员

treating all of us

成就寺院体验之旅

in the temple life experience.

现在分别时刻快到了

Now is the time for departure.

光明楼内

In the Bright Hall

传喜法师慈眉端坐 不夺不彰

Master Chuanxi was sitting in peace with a compassionate

仍然鼓励大家踊跃发言

smile and encouraging us to share our thoughts.

我原本以为和尚是

Previously I thought monks

是没有情的

have no emotions.

实际上我觉得和尚的情

Actually now I have realized that monk’s emotions

跟我们普通人的情是一样的

are the same as ordinary people.

我觉得和尚那份

In my mind, monk’s emotionis as deep as

就是《烛光里的妈妈》

the song of “Mama in the candle light”

我觉得唱得非常震撼人心

which had shaken up our hearts.

我们在场昨天晚上聊的时候

When we had a chat last night,

很多人都感动落泪

many of us were moved to tears.

包括这一刻

Even now,

我觉得想到那首歌的时候

when I recall that song,

我就觉得自己会掉眼泪

I can’t help crying

真的对母亲的爱

for the true love towards the mother.

其实我们每个人在日常生活中

Usually in our daily life,

可能都会有对父母的那种

we may feel guilty to our parents

不能陪伴的这种心情

for not being able to accompany them.

爱不能得以表达

Love to parents can not be expressed

不能得以去实现

and be released normally,

我觉得非常非常值得这一行

therefore I think this trip is very worthwhile.

这是我的内心的一些感受

This is how I really feel after the trip.

做生意以后

After I went into business,

对寺院有不同的理解

I was holding a different opinion on temples,

特别也看到就是说

especially when I found

这个寺庙 现在日益景区化

some temples are gradually running as scenic spots

商业化 日益严重的情况之下

and have been seriously commercialized.

我后来有一段时间很少去寺庙

My visits to temples became less frequently.

那么昨天一天的生活

However, after spending a day

感觉到就是说慧日禅寺

in Huiri Temple, I feel that

是一个净土

it is a pure land.

就是我多年的 心中的一个纠结

The knot that has bound my heart

舒展开了

is unloosened

也找到了一个答案

and I finally find my answer.

我感觉到在这里

I feel in this temple

大家都是很快乐的

that everyone is happy.

为什么 因为我们的领头人

That’s because our spiritual mentor

传喜法师他没有高高在上的

Master Chuanxi has never shown his superiority,

这样一种姿态来面对大家

nor has he communicated arrogantly.

他很平和

He is affable

来跟我们大家相处

and easy to get along with.

正因为他是这样的一种人

Due to his kind nature,

那么下面的这些师父 像义工

these monks, nuns and volunteers

大家都是这样的

are all following his behavior.

这样的话呢 就是说

In this way

把身段放下了

they let go of their egos

那么佛就跟我们更近了

to make us closer to the Buddha.

所以说我感觉到在慧日禅寺

Therefore I feel in Huiri temple

每一个人都是快乐的

that everyone is happy

我们的大和尚是快乐的

Our Master is happy，

我们的小和尚也是快乐的

so are the monks

我们的义工是快乐的

and volunteers.

那我们来这里的游客

Visitors are happy to be here;

信徒也是快乐的

disciples feel happy as well

因为大家心中有法

That’s because we all have Dharma in our mind.

还有一个

There’s one thing to add

你们知道了一个

You all know that

就是世事是无常的

the worldly affairs are all impermanent in nature.

那很多东西你就原来很执着

Previously you might have strong attachment

很坚持的一些东西啊

to many things. However,

其实你就看一些缘起的东西

if you observe the nature of these things, you will realize

它缘起也会缘散的

they arise in dependence upon certain conditions and

然后你很多东西

vanish when those conditions no longer exist. Therefore,

你就不是那么地执着

you will not become overly cling on to many things

或是一根筋搭牢了

or single-minded.

不是这样

On the contrary

你就会慢慢慢慢

You will gradually

你就会让你的心胸会打开

你就会 噢 这是无常的

You will understand it’s impermanent.

世事无常

Every existence in the world is impermanent.

我聊这些东西给抛砖引玉

I just shared a few commonplace remarks

让自己同学们也许像我一样

hoping that you might

会受到一点点启发

be inspired and felt a positive change.

我觉得呢

In my opinion

作为现在一个在家的人

as a layman

其实更重要的

what matters most

不一定是要放下一切 抛弃一切

is not letting go of everything

而是应该用正知正念

but how to keep our awareness and mindfulness

把佛法在人间演绎出来

to practice Buddhism in the modern world

树立一个光辉的榜样

and to set a good example.

如果诸位做企业的

If we entrepreneurs could run our businesses

如果你能够完全用正法

following the principles of Buddhism,

给社会注入一股清流

it would bring a new stream of energy into our society.

让大家知道

This is also to let people know that

用这种很正当的方式

running businesses in such a righteous way,

也可以非常得成功

can also bring great success.

这样对佛法的演绎

Practicing Buddhism in this way

可能对大家的教化

might make a much profound impact

是更为深远的

on everyone of us.

也是另外一种途径

This is another path

所以呢 这是我想走的道路

that I want to take

体会一下

and experience.

这个人生最高的思想境界是什么

What’s the noblest state of mind in our life?

让我们更好地 就是在今后的工作

Let’s do good deeds

生活当中呢 积德和行善

in future work and daily life

善待我们周围的朋友和同事

and treat our friends and colleagues well.

这个是我们能够做到的

Above are things we are able to do.

我以前也没有接触过这个

I haven’t experienced this situation previously

这么近距离地

from such a close distance

去接触佛教的一些事情

to know more about Buddhism.

可能听过一些课

I have attended to some lectures

但是这么近距离的也是第一次

however this is the first time to be so close to it.

我谈一点我真的是比较浅显的

I would like to share

一个想法吧

one of my humble opinions

就是说您昨天的一句话

on what you have said yesterday.

我昨天回去之后

When I came back yesterday.

给他们也都一直在说

I shared with other people

就是能够比较触动我的就是说

what had touched me deeply.

其实佛教最后落实到

Buddhism is actually a way

是对于人心的

to conquer people’s mind

就对您自己的一种征服

and their ego selves.

就克服你自己

and to conquer yourself,

这个呢 给我的感触很深 很大

which has touched me deeply.

我觉得不讲它的应用吧

I will not talk about its application this time

但是我觉得这一点

but for me

我会遵循您的这句话 我会思考

I will follow your guideline and consider

然后我会可能落实在一些地方

to put it into practice in some ways.

昨天讲了一点 关于子女的教育

Yesterday the opinion on education to children

我觉得对我触动比较大

impressed me a lot, too.

就是我们对子女的教育

Education to ourchildren

应该最终基本体现

should be reflected in the way

对自己父母的这种孝敬方面

we treat our parents with filial respect

实际上对子女无形的一种教育

which is indeed an intangible guidance to them.

昨天我懂了

Yesterday I have realized

我们教育方式有问题

that our way of education is not correct.

这次当然由于学习最大的体会

This is the main feeling

就是这一点

I got this time.

我觉得人 要孝

In my opinion, filial piety is very important.

首先要体现对父母的孝

We shall show respect to our parents,

然后子女才能对你孝敬

thus our children will respect us in return,

一代一代地传承下去

which will be passed down generation after generation.

我们这种民营企业的

For our private enterprises

政府很多的一些规定

there are many regulations set by the government.

我们压力也很大

We have been put under great pressure, too.

但是在这里 这几天

In the past few days

我这身心得到一种放松

My body and mind got relaxed and refreshed.

听着佛歌 听着师父的一些传法

When I listened to the Buddhist melody and Dharma taught

我内心在一遍一遍重复我们

by the Master, I kept repeating in my mind

在工作上 在家庭上

that in our work and life

我们真的是做的还是很不够

we haven’t done well enough.

我觉得还有我们经常也在说

We always say

心宽天地宽

the world is wide for selflessness.

但是我们真正没有去悟到

But actually we weren't enlightened.

说心宽天地宽

It’s easy to say “the world is wide for selflessness”

念起来是这个很博大

and it sounds like broad minded.

但是我们真正地发现说

But I find that

我们的心真正的是很渺小

our heart is rather narrow

我们还做的真的是很不够

and we haven’t done well enough

那我觉得心宽天地宽

The saying of “the world

is wide for selflessness” is so good

我还会再继续地努力

that I will keep on practicing.

每年都会去烧高香

Each year we will burn incense,

我们也不知道为什么

however we don’t know the reason why.

就是懵懵懂懂的

We are very ignorant about it.

也许是凑热闹 也许是图别的

We just follow the tradition or do this for other purposes.

但我们每年去烧香

We burn incense each year

也经常进寺庙 去拜去求

and pray for good fortune in the temple

然后等等

so on and so forth.

但是不知道为什么

However we don’t know why we do this

不知道干什么

and what to do.

我来的比较晚

I came here late.

昨天晚上就参加了那个晚会

I just joined the summer evening party yesterday.

但是传喜法师一出现

When Master Chuanxi appeared,

对我来讲是一个震撼

I was shocked to see him.

我从来没有见过法师那么亲切

I have never seen such a kind Master like him.

虽然距离远

Although in a distance,

但是那个笑容

his smile

那个近距离的那个亲切

and his kindness are close to us.

对佛的那种亲近感 远远地拉近

The intimate feeling toward Buddha becomes closer to us.

我希望有机会跟法师

I wish I have the opportunity to follow Master Chuanxi

跟各位大师来学习

and other masters.

然后我不知道我自身的觉悟

I am not sure

会有怎么样

about my consciousness,

但是我希望有机会

but I still hope I have the opportunity

继续提升自己的一点佛法修行

to improve myself in practicing Buddhism.

这次呢 我来到禅寺

This time I came to the temple,

最常听到的一句话呢

I heard the most frequently heard

就是两个字

words were

就是 随缘

“let it be”.

见到我们大师

After I met with our Master,

我对佛有一个新的认识

I have got a new understanding about Buddha

我有一个想法

and opinion

包括我的孩子我家庭

on my child and family.

我的下一步我还是随缘嘛

What will I do next is to'let it be'.

从这个佛的这条路上

On the path towards Buddhahood

有一个很好的一个启程

I have started

有个启程

the journey.

我也没有办法用言语来表达

I can’t find proper words to express my feeling

但是呢 我觉得生活即修行

but I think life is about cultivating one's self.

因为可能是这个年龄

Probably at my age

就是的会比较地有些浮躁

people will feel unsettled.

有时候我觉得我自己

Sometimes I feel

就是特别地力不从心吧

very overwhelmed

因为可能精力呀

because I don’t have enough energy

各方面都比较地少

in one way or another.

有的时候就会去看一些佛学的知识

Sometimes I will read books on Buddha-Dharma,

因为我觉得字里行间

the great wisdom

都是有智慧的

between the lines

通过自己慢慢静下来

calms me down

然后去感悟

and I get enlightened.

伴着悠扬的音乐

The music is playing in the background.

几位义工走到光明楼中央

Several volunteers are walking in the center of the hall.

用手语 轻轻舞动一颗颗感恩的心

They use sign language to form the shape of heart.

对于每一位学员的发言

For everyone’s sharing

无论远近

near or far,

法师都投去温和的目光

Master will show his kind attention,

以示鼓励和赞许

encouragement and praise.

这种细致的周到

We acknowledge Master’s detailed consideration

让我们这些所谓的义工

is more superior

自叹弗如

than us so called volunteers

三言两语

No words

道不尽心中的感恩和感悟

can fully express our gratitude to our master.

学员们只有把这两天的体验

We will keep what we have experienced in the two days

留在心里

deep in our heart

慢慢地体会和领悟

and understand the essence little by little.

佛法的种子已经种下了

The seeds of Dharma have been planted.

希望生活中工作时

In the future work and life

一有烦恼的时候

whenever you have trouble,

佛法的受用就会显现出来

Dharma will help you find a way out.

最后是法师的总结开示了

Master’s conclusion speech is as follows.

这个千年寺院

In this thousand-year old temple,

但是佛教的数千年的

Buddhism with several thousand years of history

文化积淀之深厚

is so profound

所以呢 我们在这里才会有这些

that we are blessed to

才会有这些体验

have such fantastic experience.

所以希望大家回去慢慢品味

Therefore I wish you can think more about it

也是我们人生的

when you are back home. In our life

一个崭新的一个开端吧

this is the starting of anew journey.

应该不是结束 我想

This is not the end.

阿弥陀佛

Amitabha! When you behave like a saint,

环顾一周 做人有圣贤气象

the atmosphere around you will be harmonious

为善具龙马精神 映入眼帘

When you do goods, you will be full of vigor.

It is also blessings for disciples

勉励佛弟子们做人处事

and encouragements on dealing well with relationship and affairs.

见贤思齐 守护善念

Emulate those better than ourselves, protect our kind mind

精进修持

and persist in the practice of Buddhism.

这就是佛法在世间最好的应用

This is the best practice of Buddhism in the society.

对于我们这些在商海拼搏的人

For people competing in the business world, it’s important

亲近善知识 体悟圣贤之道

to be close to good masters and accord with Buddhism.

时刻提醒自己守护一份善意

Remind ourselves to protect the kind mind every moment.

生活处处是道场

Life is the dojo to practice Buddhism.

如果中国有更多的商业精英

If there are more commercial elites

能够冲破利益的障碍

who can break through the obstacles of interest

和小我的藩篱

and ego barriers and if the Buddhism culture

如果佛教文化中的无我利他

of selflessness and being beneficial to others can influence

能够影响商业文明的思想根基

the intellectual foundation of business civilization,

全社会不再那么急攻近利

the whole society will not chase behind quick success.

那会是多么理想的和谐社会啊

Then how harmonious the society will be

对我们个人来讲

For us individuals

更是如此

it’s also important

在利他的行为中 遇见自己

to meet with our true self in doing goods

在利他的情感中 感受同体

and feel that you and other people are a unified one.

莫言娑婆世道艰

Never say it’s difficult to survive in the Saha World

酸甜苦辣皆菩提

Joys and sorrows of life are all paths to enlightenment.

此心安住大光明

To rest our busy minds in the great brightness,

人生何处不南山

you will find peace everywhere in life.
