您的悲智之光可以照亮世界

——恩师归西十五周年感怀

我们相信

一个人可以撑起一个家，

一种智慧可以照亮一个时代。

We believe

That as a single individual is able to hold up a family,

So is the wisdom of a certain person able to illuminate a generation.

我们看到

一盏灯可以点亮万盏灯，

瞬间的光明可以破除万年的黑暗

We see

That a single lamp is able to light up 10,000 lamps,

And this banishes in an instant the darkness that has prevailed for 10,000 years.

我们证明

一阵春风可以吹绿山头，

百花盛开！

We witness

As the breeze of spring wafts

across the green peaks,

A hundred flowers bloom!

一种温情可以融化冰雪

万民惠泽！

我们蒙受文明荫被人性的关怀！

One’s kindness is able to melt ice and

snow

So that the masses can be benefitted,

And under the shelter of our civilization,

We can be cared for humanely.

您用铁肩担起黑暗时代的道义

您用胸怀温暖冰冷世界的游子

您把光明变成千万人的光明

您把温暖变成千万人的温暖

您把智慧变成千万人的智慧

您把自在变成千万人的自在

您把解脱变成千万人的解脱

您把净土变成千万人的净土

您把希望变成千万人的希望

您把善良变成千万人的善良

您把圆满变成千万人的圆满

On steely shoulders you took up the burden of the righteousness of the Dao in this age of darkness;

With your magnanimity, you have given warmth to the wanderers in this cold and

bleak world.

Your have transformed light,

As you have warmth,

Wisdom,

Uninhibited-ness,

Enlightenment,

The Pureland,

Hope,

Kindness,

And perfection into that for millions.

所以思念成了海洋

缅怀成了星空

呼唤成了高山

祈祷成了江河

Such that longing thoughts have become

the ocean,

Fond recollections the stars and the

skies,

Calls the lofty mountains.

And prayers the rivers and streams.

祈请成了千万人的祈请

呼唤成了千万人的呼唤

缅怀成了千万人的缅怀

思念成了千万人的思念

These invocations have become the invocations of millions;

As have the calls,

The fond recollections,

And the longing thoughts.

圆月澄澈于潭心

慧日遍照于千佛

The full moon is crystal clear in the centre of the deep pool;

And the sun of wisdom shines on thousands of Buddhas.

我们愿成为您寂光中大悲恻动的莲台

我们蒙受您不违安养的关爱

这五浊恶世我们不忍心您来

这五浊恶世（我们）又期待您归来

We aspire to be the lotus seat on which you abide in illuminated quiescence and

great compassion,

[So that] those of us in the mundane world are able to receive 

your concern and love.

We cannot bear to see you come back to this world of the Five Turbidities;

Yet, we look forward to your return.

我们发誓：用觉醒 、戒恶修善、

发菩提心 、解脱自己 、利益他人

来证明您曾经来过这个世界的伟大价值

也是用来祈请您重返娑婆的

伟大意义所在！

We vow to exercise awakened-ness, practice wholesome-ness 

and refrain from evil,

Evoke the mind of enlightenment, and to seek self-emancipation as well as to benefit others;

So as to bear testament to the greatness of your having been 

in this world,

And to use these as the purpose for the invocation for you to return to the mundane world.
