新年圣财广进，来自传喜法师2020年的新年祝福

这段时间我一直在思考：为什么天那么大，地那么广，我们的心却这么小？小小地萎缩在愚昧里，看不到任何好的现象。像慧日寺，光有形有相的好事就很多，诸佛菩萨这么庄严，佛陀的脚印如玉石一般，还有这么多佛塔可以转绕——可你却更容易绕在自己的自私自利里、绕在我执我见里。慧日寺低头抬头处处清净，你呢，紧抓着烦恼，自迷心窍，不得开朗。

I have been thinking through over this period of time: Why is it so that the sky is extremely large, earth remarkably vast and yet, our mind is so small? Shrunken up within ignorance, no sign of positive aspects is able to be picked up. Take for example, within Huri Monastery, just great things in their tangible forms alone are aplenty. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are so majestic, the footprints of Buddha look like jadeite and what’s more, there are many pagodas here to be circled – yet, even so, it is much easier for you to circle around your own selfishness, to circle around your stubbornness and wrong concept of ego, thinking that this self and ego is permanent. Peace can be located anywhere within Huiri Monastery. How about you? There you are, grabbing on tightly to troublesand worries, confusing your own self and resulting in misery.

慧日寺的清净与庄严是诸多神圣的因缘和合成就的。既然是和合的，就意味着是脆弱的，所以一再地提醒大家要知道珍惜。当看到主观的愿望与客观的呈现出现距离的时候，当发现负面的东西萦绕时，内心在痛苦与挣扎的同时也形成了一种力量，一种说法的欲望。这种说法欲不是为了说法而说法，是包含着一种责任，一种迫切的提醒！

The peacefulness and solemnity in Huiri Monastery are the effects brought about by numerous sacred causes (Nidana). Since these are being “brought about”, its fragility is thus implied and hence, everyone has been repeatedly reminded to treasure them. When the gap between one’s subjective wish and the objective surfaces, when negative things are found to be hovering around, a type of energy—a desire to preach-- is formed as the mind struggles and suffers. Such desire to preach is definitely not just for the sake of preaching, it encompasses a type of responsibility, an urgent reminder!

负面的现象让人难过，正面的力量就格外令人感动。像这个时节的慧日寺，梅花在飘香，孔雀在鸣叫，到了晚上，万灯齐明，一片的光明晃耀。这一切都来自背后的义工们默默无闻的付出。当你将身心奉献给慧日寺的时候，就是现前在供养三宝，供养诸佛菩萨。虽身在慧日寺，却能借慧日寺这个平台供养到西方极乐世界，借当下的境界去承侍十方的诸佛。我相信义工们一定也是充满着这样一种欢喜与信解。

The manifestations of negativity make one feel sad while positive energies make one extremely touched. Just like Huiri Monastery in this season, the fragrance of plum blossoms lingers in the air with peacocks calling. When night falls, countless lamps light up the darkness, shining brightly everywhere. All these are made possible with the efforts put in by volunteers, quietly working in the background. When you devote your body and mind to Huiri Monastery, it is likened to making offering to the Triple Gem, making offering to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. While one is physically at Huiri Monastery, one is able to make offering to the Pure Land by using Huiri Monastery as the platform, serving the Buddhas of all ten directions via the present state. I believed volunteers are filled with such joy, belief and understanding, too.

除了日常的维护，慧日寺还有众多的团队，像文字、视频、以及前期后期的各种制作团队，同样都是全心全意在付出。慧日寺能在参加评比的一千多家寺院中脱颖而出，获得“两岸三地最具教育影响力中华寺院”的名号，就是对全体四众弟子的肯定。

 Other than daily maintenance, many teams, like scripting, videoing, etc. are formed in Huiri Monastery, including those from the various production teams during the earlier days as well as subsequent days later. They are all working and dedicating themselveswhole-heartedly. Huiri Monastery’s top rating for standing out among a thousand over monasteries and being conferred the title of “China’s most influential monastery in Greater China” – is an affirmation to all disciples of the four varga (bhiksu, bhiksuni, upasaka, upasika).

同时，这份肯定也是在提醒我们，要昼惭愧夜惭愧，昼夜六时恒惭愧。想一想为什么自己还在轮回路上？为什么解脱不了？为什么声闻、缘觉、菩萨诸乘的果位一个不得现前？ 

At the same time, such affirmation also serves as a form of reminder to us, by day and night, one should constantly feel ashamed of oneself. Give this a thought – why am I still on this path of Samsara? Why hasn’t liberation taken place? Why has oneself not even attained a single stage--Sravakayana, Pratyekabuddhayana, Bodhisattvayana ?

人如果不学佛，只能是芸芸众生的一份子；人如果觉悟了，生命的旅程将比黄金还宝贵。当我们珍惜佛法，加入到佛弟子的行列，以全部的身语意去追随佛陀的时候，首先得到滋养的是自己。一个能降伏烦恼的人是幸福的，一个身口意清净如莲的人是庄严的。然后，当你以这一份幸福和庄严去利益他人时，自然就汇入了佛陀的功德大海，成为改变世界的那股强大的正能量中的一员。

Should one not practise Buddhism, one can only be a part of the myriad sentient beings; should one be awakened, the journey of life will then be much more precious than gold itself. When we treasure Dharma and have joined the force to become Buddha’s disciples, devoting our body, speech and mind to the pursuance of Buddha, the first party to be nourished will be self. One who triumphs over worries is contended, one who possesses a body, speech and mind as pure as the lotus is dignified. Then, as you start to benefit others with such contentment and dignity, you will naturally blend into Buddha’s vast sea of merits and virtues, becoming one who can change the world with great positive energy.
