修行中断很危险

修行不可中断,这个中断障、违缘障是很危险、很恐怖的。多少人学佛,有的就是跟佛擦肩而过,他也结到佛缘了,走走又走开了,没办法深入经藏。师父是解读经典的人,用生命带你们进入经典。你主观地深入经藏,是看不到经藏的底的,但是师父带你进入经藏的大海,狗刨式、蛙泳、仰泳,随便哪种方式教你。
我们要知道,修行如一人与万人战,要严阵以待。纵使我们来到寺院身处顺境了,但还是要警惕自己的心,到这样的环境里来我们的恶业会翻出来,有进步,也会有退步,有时侯甚至会迷失掉方向。因为当你一个人的时候,你看不到业力只看到“我”,不知道这个“我”就是业力生出来的。
We must understand that spiritual practice is like one-man battle against ten thousand. We must be fully prepared. Even if we are in a temple and surrounded by favorable conditions, we must still be vigilant about our own minds. In such an environment, our negative karma may surface. We may progress, regress and sometimes we may even lose our way. When you're alone, you only see the "ego" rather than the karmic forces, unaware that this "ego" is however born out of karmic forces.
如果一个有善业力的人,比如说,他已经有天堂的力了,就好像天人有一个光环一样,他的语言、思想、行为都不会损伤自己的福德。往往没有福德的人,语言、心念、行为,恶业多一点他根本不在乎;但一个积德修福的人却越来越谨慎,一丝之恶他都会警戒不做,一丝之善赶快捡起来,大海不拒细流。

Persistence Is the Path to

在寺院,表面上好像每一天都很平凡。但是,在这里你能够如理如法,早课、晚课、讽经、绕塔、供水、点灯、听钟、拜钟,这些都具有非常不可思议的功德。动机纯洁,发心广大,虽然是平凡的,但其中就孕育着伟大。这样能够持之以恒,业障消除,福慧增长,就是转凡成圣。这其实就是修行,就是成佛之路。
In the temple, to the casual observer, each day might seem mundane. However, if we can practice in accordance with the Dharma, engaging in morning and evening chanting, sutra recitation, circumambulating the stupa, offering water and lamps, listening to and bowing to the bell, these actions have incredible merit. With pure motivations and vast aspirations, although ordinary, these actions nurture greatness. By persisting in this way, karmic obstacles are eliminated, blessings and wisdom will increase, and the mundane one transforms into the enlightened one. This is the essence of spiritual practice, the path to Buddhahood.
就怕我们自己意志不能坚定,修、修、修,业障现出来就被业障打败了。我们这个业障就像海浪一样,一浪赶着一浪,自己去体会,这是不容易的,要用几年功夫才有可能转染为净,染污消除才能体现出正面福德。所谓业障能够消除,也是被福德力所抵消的,这个时候福德力显现出来的瑞相就是消业障。
The elimination of karmic obstacles is actually the counteraction by the power of merit. At this time, the auspicious signs manifested by the power of merit are that the karmic obstacles are being eliminated.
消业障是很痛苦的,有的人甚至会觉得奇怪,我学佛怎么会不顺了。有的人来寺院,因为刚来,分别心还不大,那时候很虔诚,很快身口意就会很清净,会得利益,这就叫“初发心。”初发心有时候是很纯的,当初发心很快进入一种好状态,有时候就会保不住,所谓的业障会现出来。业障一现,他马上就会起疑惑、颠倒,然后就退心了,所以我们要防护住。
学佛了,无论怎么样都要往好处想,要动好念头,这样福德才会持续地增长。否则你这辈子好不容易来了,业障一现前,分别念一重,恶念一出来就中断修行了。这一生不能成就,你还指望哪一生?所以降伏自己是很不容易的事情,我们要再三地提醒自己,要克服自己的毛病是不容易的。
After embracing Buddhism, we should always think positively and cultivate good thoughts. In this way, meritsk will continue to grow.

如何克服半途而废

很多学佛人,因为一个偶尔的机会对佛有兴趣了,但如果没有善知识给他辅导,没有善友相伴,自己有可能会半途而废。为什么呢?本身我们跟佛之间还有太多的不同的地方。佛是功德具足的,但我们有时候看不到佛的功德,恰恰我们业障很重,很实在地障碍着自己。
The Buddha is perfectly replete with virtues, but sometimes we can't see the Buddha's merits because our karmic obstacles are heavy and tangibly hinder us.
如果能克服自己的这个黑暗,我们在学佛的过程当中,佛的力量加持,让我们冲过自己人生的这个坎,那我们下面会比较顺。因为每个人都不是干干净净的,学佛之前无量劫来已经造作了极大的罪业,你怎么样克服罪业,让这些罪业不要来障碍,这是很难的。所以为什么要有善知识的引导,要有良友的扶持,就是这样的。
In our process of studying Buddhism, if we can overcome this darkness, with the Buddha’s blessing, we can overcome the obstacles in our lives, and our path ahead will become smoother.
This is why we need the guidance of virtuous teacher and the support of good friends.
否则的话,你说我们都有佛性,佛经典都翻译出来了,现在印刷书这么方便,我们获得经书并不难,那看书就可以了。但其实除了这个之外,你还有很多有形无形的障碍,需要比你更有能力的过来人拉你一把,提携你一把,需要那些好的善友形成一股好的力量,克服你自我的一些障碍,这是很重要的。
Good spiritual friends form a positive force that can help you overcome some of your self-imposed obstacles. This is very important.
修行就像吃大饼

修行就像有的人吃大饼:吃了一个、两个,吃了第三个,肚子还饿,等吃到第六个,饱了。他忽然拍拍脑门:“早知道我就吃第六个好了。”这是个错误结论。假如今天拜了3个小时,你觉得“我好像没什么感觉,好像没有忏悔掉多少业障”,但你继续这样拜,继续忏悔下去是有用的,总会有感觉的。
等哪天吃到第六个大饼,你就饱了,这第六个大饼是从前面一个、两个、三个、四个、五个累积来的。所以修行别后悔,不要说:“你们都有感觉,我为什么没感觉?”你若没感觉,那就继续“吃大饼”吧。
我们从理智上认识到皈依三宝的方向是对的,那不管怎么样都要坚持,只要方向对肯定是会有收效的。因为无量劫以来身口意造作了无边无际的业,我们现在学佛了,一开始感应会很大,但有时候进步可能不会很显著。只要持之以恒,我们就会越来越靠近佛陀,就会越来越生起真实的智慧。
As long as we persist, we will get closer and closer to the Buddha and increasingly develop the genuine wisdom.
很多学佛人,不论是在家居士还是出家人,他学着学着,就会停留在他的境界里自我满足,不思进取。所以一个人要能够每天归零,那每天都享受着一种新境界,享受到新的你又不住不漏,你会得增长,这就不中断。中断障是很危险、很恐怖的,一旦你有了这种障碍,将一事无成。
Therefore, one should be able to reset each day. In this way, one can enjoy a new state every day, experiencing the new self without dwelling or leaking. You will gain progress, and this is how to avoid interruption. The obstacle of interruption is very dangerous and terrifying. Once you have this obstacle, you will achieve nothing.
爬任何一座山,你缺乏毅力放弃的时候,山比你高;你的毅力、智慧、坚持,能够一览众山小的时候,你就比山还高。
When you lack perseverance and give up climbing, the mountain is higher than you. But when you have perseverance, wisdom, and persistence, and can see all the mountains below, you will be taller than the mountains.
