Hay un dicho en la secta Zen: "La capacidad de ser el Maestro de todos los fenómenos, no se marchita con las cuatro estaciones".  La naturaleza búdica común que poseen el Buda y los seres sintientes no se transforma ni se marchita con las cuatro estaciones.  Todos los que tienen bendiciones y sabiduría ven el manantial con la ráfaga de viento;  Aquellos sin bendiciones y sabiduría no conocen la primavera, incluso cuando están parados entre un jardín en flor.

선종에는 이런 말이 있다."모든 현상의 주인이 되는 능력이 있으며, 사계절에 따라 시들지 않는다." 그 사계절에 따라 변화하거나 시들지 않는 것은 바로 부처님과 중생들이 공동적으로 가지고 있는 불성이리라. 이래서 복과 지혜를 가진 사람들은 스쳐 지나가는 바람 속에서 봄을 보이지만 복과 지혜가 없는 사람들이 화원에 있어도 봄을 보이지 않으리라.

There is this saying in the Zen sect: “The ability to be the Master of all phenomena, does not wither with the four seasons.” The common Buddha-nature possessed by the Buddha and sentient beings does not transform or wither with the four seasons. All those with blessings and wisdom see the spring with the gust of a wind; those without blessings and wisdom do not know of spring, even when standing among a garden in blossom.  

禅宗里有一句话：“能为万象主，不逐四时凋。”那不会随四季变幻而凋零的就是佛与众生共有的佛性。所以有福有智的人，在一阵风里就可以看到春天；无福无智的人，即使身处百花园中，也不知道春在何方。
