Attraverso i meriti del dharmakaya del Buddha e il potere del voto di sambhogakaya, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva si è stabilito pacificamente in questo nostro mondo che sorge e muore. Dagli insegnamenti di Shakyamuni Buddha al raggiungimento dello stato di Buddha da parte di Maitreya Buddha, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva dimora e sostiene il dharma proprio nel mezzo di entrambi, liberando gli esseri senzienti come leader dell'oscurità e della luce (inferi e mondo vivente).

Come menzionato dal Buddha nel Daśacakra Ksitigarbha Sūtra: I meriti di recitare i nomi di tutti i Buddha e Bodhisattva delle dieci direzioni non sono così grandi come quelli di recitare il nome di Kitigarbha Bodhisattva. Come mai? Questo perché Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva "otterrà la bodhi solo quando tutti gli esseri senzienti saranno liberati e ha fatto giuramento di non diventare un Buddha fino a che l'Inferno non venga svuotato". Questo è il Suo voto fondamentale, il potere del voto di Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva è  ininterrotto e incessante - Re Ksitigarbha, Bodhisattva del Grande Voto. I meriti del Suo nome superano anche quello del Buddha.

Through the merits of the dharmakaya of Buddha & the power of sambhogakaya’s vow, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has settled peacefully into this rising and perishing world of ours. From the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha to Maitreya Buddha’s attaining of Buddha-hood, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva dwells and upholds the dharma from right in between both, liberating sentient beings as a leader of the dark and the light (Netherworld and Living world). 

As mentioned by the Buddha in Daśacakra Kṣitigarbha Sūtra: The merits of reciting the names of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas from ten directions are not as great as those of reciting the name of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. Why? This is because Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva will “attain Bodhi only when all sentient beings are liberated & vowed not to be a Buddha unless Hell is emptied”. This is His fundamental vow, the power of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s vow is unabating & unceasing – King Ksitigarbha, Bodhisattva of the Great Vow. The merits of His name even surpass that of the Buddha.

地藏菩萨以佛的法身的功德，以报身的愿力，安住在我们这个生灭的世界，上启释迦佛陀的教法，下至弥勒佛成道，于此中间住持佛法，救度众生，作冥阳教主。

佛在《地藏十轮经》里说：念十方诸佛菩萨名号功德，没有念地藏菩萨名号功德大。为什么？因为地藏菩萨“众生度尽，方成菩提，地狱不空，誓不成佛”，这是他的本愿，地藏菩萨的愿力没有穷尽——大愿地藏王菩萨，他的名号功德甚至超过佛。
