这条路很长,
你要跟住
A long path but you have to step
菩提路旷远,作为修行人,如果生生世世能有良师益友作为增上缘,这是非常美妙的;而一旦中断,也许再难续上。我们住在寺院,尤其随佛出家,实际上已经是在莲花胎里了。接下来最重要的就是看你有没有长远心。
The Bodhi Path is a long way to voyage. As a person practising Buddhism, it would be wonderful to have mentors and friends around you as Adhipati-pratyaya in every birth. However, once it is interrupted, it might be difficult to continue. We live in the temple and thus we are already in the buds of lotuses, especially as monastics. Therefore, the most important thing is whether you are a person of perseverance or not.
我们在五台山,文殊菩萨的金色界就在这里,过去包括法照大师在内的很多祖师大德都亲自进入过。所以怎么样进入佛菩萨的这个现成的解脱世界,就是我们在这里的修行课题。
We are now in Wutai Mountain, where the Holy Place of Manjusri Bodhisattva is and many great patriarchs and eminent masters, including Master Fazhao, personally visited in the past. Therefore, how to enter the world of freedom of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is our main topic of practicing here.
要融入五台山,首先就要把“我”的问题解决了。所以每天要对自己敲木鱼:我在道场,要懂得情绪管理,要和合,要精进。和合是一种功德聚,你能呵护它,你就能得它的加持。
To integrate into Wutai Mountain, we must first solve the problem of “I”. Thus I have to beat “myself” every day: when I am in a Bodhimanda, I need to know how to manage emotions in order to be harmonious and progressive. Harmony is a kind of accumulation of merits and virtues. If you can take care of it, you can gain blessings from it.
身处一个团队,你的包容心不够,就会觉得哪里都是问题;反之就会觉得这都是五百罗汉,每一个都有个性。所以一个道场怎么样,道场里的人怎么样,跟观察者自己的业力是有关系的。讲到底了就是要提高自己的觉悟,要防护自己不要产生负面的情绪,产生了不要皈依它,不要相信它。
Suppose you are in a team, if you are not tolerant enough, you would probably think there are problems everywhere. Instead, you can regard them as 500 Arhats with their own personalities. As a result, what a Bodhimanda is like and what people are like in the Bodhimanda are deeply related to the observer’s own karma. In brief, it is necessary to improve your own consciousness in order to protect you from producing negative emotions. Even if those emotions occur, you should not to convert to it as well as not to believe it.
面对同样的人事,我们自己的情绪、自己的生命状态不一样时,所见完全不一样。想想看,我们连自己都不了解,你又怎么可能了解别人?更何况,我们这些凡夫僧背后是贤圣僧,我们文殊寺背后是五台山,是真正的文殊菩萨的刹土,你“亲见文殊刹土”这一关还没过呢,你能看到什么真相?所以一个僧团大家能这样去修,业气就会慢慢化消,智慧福报就会很快增长。
Our views might be totally opposite when our emotions and life state are different, though facing the same cases. Think carefully here. We don't even know ourselves and how can we know others? In addition, there are innumerable virtuous sages behind us ordinary monks and Wutai mountain behind the Manjusri Temple which is the soil of the real Manjusri Bodhisattva. You are yet to pass the stage of "seeing Manjusri soil personally", what truth can you probably see? Therefore, let us practice in this way, the blessings and wisdom will grow rapidly while the karma will diminish gradually.
未来的路虽然很远很长,但当我们融入在僧团里,这就是一条幸福的路。我们会越来越有安全感,我们的法身慧命会快速地发芽成长,然后就会发现有不生不灭法,就会看到自己的佛性。
Although the future road is still very long, when we integrate into the Sangha, it will be a road with happiness. We will feel more and more secure and our dharmakaya and wisdom will germinate rapidly. Then we will find the doctrine of neither arising nor ceasing (或者 non-production and non-extinction), and we will see our own Buddha nature.
有一位成就者作过一个比喻,他说在玻璃上作画,无论画的是什么,最后都会退色,但是玻璃不会退。我们的佛性就是这样,无量劫轮回的画不管怎么变,佛性不会变。而众生就是因为不识佛性,所以才在生死里轮回。
One of the achievers once made a metaphor. He said that painting on glass, no matter what it is, will fade in the end but the glass will retain. Our Buddha nature is similar. No matter how the painting “Reincarnation of endless kalpas” changes, the Buddha nature will not change. All sentient beings are reincarnated in life and death because of their unawareness of the Buddha nature.
我们放生的时候念的那一句,“当处究竟,当处清净,当处自在。一究竟一切究竟,一清净一切清净,一自在一切自在”,指的就是佛性。世间人背觉合尘,逐着枝末,逐着内外的境界,迷失了自己的佛性。
When we free captive animals, we always said, " Aspire to perfect, aspire to pure and aspire to freedom. If one is perfect, then all is perfect; if one is pure, then all is pure; if one is free, then all is free". And this refers to Buddha nature. People tend to cling onto materials instead of seeking awakening , pursuing the trifles and external environment, finally losing their own Buddha nature.
作为出家人,不用为资身产业忧愁、担心,我们的主要功课就在心性上。心性即为佛,护念即为法,自性清净即为僧。从住持的三宝回归到自性三宝,从自性三宝能够达到住持三宝,佛法之灯就灯灯相传,然后从这个隧道打开极乐之门,通到佛的世界。
As Buddhist monks, we don't have to worry about the property. Instead, our major is to sublimate our mind. The mind is the Buddha, mindfulness is the Dharma, and the peaceful heart is the Sangha. The Three Jewels, the Buddha, the dharma and the sangha return to the self-nature, then the self-nature is promoted as the Three Jewels, the light of Buddha Dharma passed on and the door of bliss opened, leading to the Buddha's world.
众生因迷惑颠倒造了一个娑婆世界,诸佛以正觉的慈悲、威德造了一个佛国。当我们证悟佛国的时候,娑婆世界就如梦幻泡影了。我们现在觉得轮回很真实,那是因为我们没调频道。就像我们进入梦境时,梦里的一切都很真实,一旦醒来就觉得梦境很虚无。
Sentient beings have created a Saha world imputing to confusions, while the Buddhas have created a Buddhist kingdom with compassion and virtue. When we realize the Buddha Kingdom, the Saha world ruins just like a dream. Now we regard reincarnation as real, owing to the channel not switched. When we enter a dream, everything in the dream is very real. However, once we wake up, we feel that the dream is illusory.
作为出家人,我们实际上已经进入诸佛拯救众生的事业中了。所以,只要你能跟得住、不掉队,依靠僧团的力量积累资粮,照见佛性,进而自利利他,这条菩提路你一定会越走越光明,越走越快乐。
As Buddhist monks, we have actually started the cause of assisting the Buddhas to save sentient beings. Therefore, as long as you follow the steps and keep up, you can remarkably accumulate your blessings and recover your Buddha nature with the help of Sangha to benefit others simultaneously. Then you will have a great trip on the road of Bodhi with more and more brightness and happiness.
