你们参加过建设寺院，功德无量，其他不用说。
什么摔了一跤啊，跟谁生个烦恼啊，
发过烧啊，感过冒，这些琐碎的东西不用讲，
提纲挈领。
You have all participated in the construction of the monastery,
where merits are infinite;
the rest need not be mentioned.
Matters like falling down,
feeling annoyed with someone,
having a fever, or catching a cold are trivial and do not need to be discussed.
Focus on the main points.
如果对轮回的众生来说，我们遇到了三宝，我们皈依了三宝，我们听经闻法，我们破无明，启发了智慧，我们求愿往生西方净土，我们从此终结轮回，这就是功德无量的，其他不用讲。
这个轮回什么样？你家里什么事啊？那都不用讲的，讲那些有什么用呢？
For sentient beings trapped in the cycle of Samsara, we have encountered the Triple Gem, taken refuge in the Triple Gem, listened to the teachings, eradicated ignorance, ignited wisdom, and aspired to be reborn in the Western Pure Land. With this, we have put a stop to Samsara, and this is of infinite merit, and nothing else needs to be mentioned. How is Samsara like? What is going on in your family? All these are irrelevant. Will talking about those serve any purpose?
虽然有个父亲节，但是你有过多少个爸爸？你这一辈子有爸爸，你前世做猪、做狗、做鸡、做鸭都有爸爸的，你记得谁啊？在轮回路上，所以说我们叫法界一切如母如父的众生，你遇到的谁不是你的过去的爸爸？甚至，我们那个还在吃肉杀生的人，他杀的生，他吃的肉，都是他爸爸的肉啊！我们凡夫没开智慧不知道，但不知道不代表没有啊，真相就是那样。你说宇宙这么大，我们生命就像尘埃一样，我们怎么遇到了呀？这本身就是奇迹啊。
Although there is a Father's Day, yet, how many fathers have you had? You have a father in this life, but in past lives when you were a pig, a dog, a chicken, or a duck, you had fathers, too. Do you remember any of them? Hence, we refer to all sentient beings in the Dharma realm as if they were our mother or father on this path of Samsara. Whom have you encountered was not your father in a past life? Even for those who still consume meat and take lives, the beings they kill and the meat they consume are their fathers! We mortals lack wisdom and do not understand this, but our ignorance does not negate the truth. The truth remains as it is. You said: This Universe is vast, and we are like the dust. How have we come to encounter each other? This, is a miracle in itself.
如果我们皈依三宝了，如果我们能听经闻法知道了，开智慧了，我们有更好的选择，我们能跳出轮回，这就是最重要的。
If we have taken refuge in the Triple Gem, if we have understood through listening to the teachings, gained wisdom, then we will have better choices; we have the opportunity to transcend Samsara. This is what matters most.
我师父讲的，
修行人一辈子无非“吃素念佛”
——这是修行人一辈子的事业。
In my Master's words,
the lifelong pursuit of a practitioner is merely "to be vegetarian and recite the Buddha's name"
—this is the lifelong vocation of a practitioner.
