住寺院和住宾馆的区别

以前我们寺院在建设，

全住这个打地铺啊，或者住彩钢板房子，

我们来的人都很好，

因为他投入进来，首先他就告诉自己，

我不是为了吃住来的，

我不是为了享受来的。

所以他为自己的这种吃苦的心，

他自己觉得还是很满意的。

所以，你看过去我们那个片子，

每个人都是精神抖擞、光明磊落的。

In the past, when our monastery was under construction, everyone slept on makeshift beds or in steel sheet houses. 

Those who came were superb because they had arrived with the mental preparation that they weren’t here for food, staycations, or enjoyment. 

Hence, they were quite pleased with their spirit of enduring hardships. 

As a result, you could see that everyone was full of spirit and above board in our footage from those days.

现在建好了，那个大客堂弄得那么漂亮，

有时候坐着飞机来啊，

弄个拉杆箱往里一弄，

往吧台上一站，好像签名入住，送去房间，

然后觉得住的应该也很高大上，

最后没想到：“哎哟，这房间人这么多呀！

就为什么反差这么大呢？”

跟前面的高大上他接不上。

他觉得他是来宾馆入住一样的感觉。

Now that the construction is complete, with a beautifully decorated reception hall, 

at times, there will be those who arrive by plane with rolling luggage, check in as if at a hotel, 

placing their luggage at the counter for room delivery, expecting high-end accommodations, 

with the least expectation to find: 

"Oh mine! This room is crowded!" Why the stark reaction?

This stark contrast from the grandeur one had expected leaves one feeling disconnected. One is harboring the feeling of checking into a hotel.

所以，现在的感觉，

跟以前来住彩钢板房子，

踩的每一脚都是灰、都是泥巴的发心，

那个不一样的。

和现在来的人的心理准备是不一样的。

所以，有时候我们的心谦下的时候，

你就能看到伟大的佛。

我们的心高举的时候、傲慢的时候，

就是佛在我们眼里你都看不到，都看不见，

你看不到佛的光芒。

Thus, the feeling now is different as compared to that in those days when one arrived prepared to stay in steel sheet houses, with each step on dust and mud. 

The mental preparation of those coming now is not the same. 

Hence, during times when our hearts are humbled, we will be able to see the greatness of the Buddha. 

When we are proud and arrogant, we will not see the Buddha even if he is right before our eyes; you will not be able to see the radiance of the Buddha at all.
