This Sanxingdui that has flooded the screens for days is still under its “refresh” mode, with each and every one of its mysterious artifacts sparkling hot debates among the public once again:
How exactly does the civilization of Sanxingdui relate to the civilization of the universe?
What is the depth of these artifacts that “does not follow the common path”?
Why did this civilization that was once so prosperous vanish?
It was documented in Yang Xiong’s Records on Kings of Shu that millenniums ago, the Kings of Ancient Shu unbolted the heavenly gates, leading the common folks to ascend to heaven.
Millenniums after, the relics of Sanxingdui resurface, together with the vast scenes from those days of civilization, and the key of the heavenly palaces that has transited through time & space:
This word “mu (meaning eyes)”, is written on top of the word “Shu”, representing the enlightened eyes. The word “cong (meaning worm)” written at the bottom, is representative of the animal instinct that is ready to spring into action anytime.
At the same time, Sanxingdui’s statues of avian body with human head hold a metaphorical meaning - man possesses the characteristic of inferior animals, alongside with the pursuits of advanced animals.
Steering ability through wisdom, conquering barbarity with humanity – this is “summum bonum”.
The bulging eyes of the bronze mask mean that the eyes should break through the restrictions of oneself, allowing one’s senses to transcend beyond its cage.
The completion of this transcendent has a process that requires one to be “as quiet as the unmarried lady”. Tranquility takes one far.
“Tranquility is preceded by calmness; peace is preceded by tranquility.” The two eyes staring into space, not setting sight on anything, the five senses abide in a state of peacefulness. The mask expresses the peaceful realm that comes after calmness.
Carved upon the golden rod of the King of Ancient Shu is the sculpture of a feather sword that pierces through the neck of a bird and the head of a fish.
Fish swims in the water and birds fly in the air. From the terrain of water to that of the sky, and even the high mountains and vast lands of this earth, there is an arrow that can transcend through the space.
This arrow is the awakening towards the trait of life, a life enlightenment that sprouts from supreme wisdom.
Perhaps, the extrinsic heavenly gate will naturally manifest when our intrinsic door of wisdom is unbolted.
The doorway to the heavenly palaces, the light of civilization!
