有功德,更要警惕 Be Vigilant Even When Merit is Accumulated

我们在座每一位,前段时间虽然做了很多功课,但并不是完成了功课就没有目的了。实际上我们每一个人的背后,业力都是遮天蔽日。因为做的功课多,所以我们积累的功德也多。有时候我们的业力,尤其是有缘众生的业力有可能都会跟我们链接,所谓“道高一尺,业力会高一丈”。


Though we have all recently completed many spiritual practices, this completion does not mark the end of our purpose. In truth, each of us carries overwhelming karmic forces behind us. We have increasingly accumulated significant merit through our practices. Sometimes our karmic forces, particularly those connected to beings with whom we share karmic ties, may become linked to us. As the saying goes, "The higher the Way rises, the greater the karmic forces challenges"

大家更要守住清净心,能鉴别出清净和烦恼。大家在一起,同属于一个坛场,和合很重要;末法时代本身就叫“斗诤坚固”,如果不和合,我们就会很容易跟这个斗诤的共业连上。所以我们大家一定要注意。


It is crucial that we safeguard our pure minds and discern between purity and affliction. As we gather together in the same Dharma assembly, harmony is of utmost importance. The Age of the Degenerate Dharma is characterized by "unyielding disputes", and if we lack harmony, we can easily become entangled in this collective karma of conflict. We must all remain mindful of this.

惭愧心 & 超出三界

Sense of Shame & Transcending the Three Realms

我们地球在这个宇宙里,它就像是跟外界隔绝了。也有科学家分析,提出假想:宇宙对我们人类是否有一个极难逾越的屏障呢?我们是不是被禁锢在这样一个宇宙空间内呢?


In this universe, our Earth exists as though isolated from the outside. Some scientists have hypothesized: Could there be a nearly insurmountable barrier separating humanity from the rest of the universe? Are we, perhaps, confined within such a cosmic enclosure?


虽然念阿弥陀佛能往生,但是我们好像很难去觉悟佛陀说这是难信之法。但实际上我们能够从地球文明系统的业力里超越出去,而达到极乐世界佛的净土,这是太稀有难得了。


Althoug chanting Amitabha Buddha's name leads to rebirth in the Pure Land, we seem to struggle to realize why the Buddha called this a dharma difficult to believe in. Yet, it is incredibly rare and precious that we can transcend the karmic system of Earth's civilization and reach the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha.


净土法门也叫“圆顿之法”,既是圆教也是顿法,可以顿超,但将六字出乾坤、出三界。要从三界火宅、六道牢狱里冲出去,真是件不容易的事,所以大家要很认真地去行持。我们学佛,也要心生大欢喜。人身难得,一个人能有佛缘,能学佛、能有善根,不可思议;能顿超三界,更不可思议。


The Pure Land teaching is known as the "Perfect and Sudden Dharma" - encompassing both completeness and immediacy. With the six-character mantra, one can transcend heaven and earth and escape from the Three Realms. Breaking free from the burning house of the Three Realms and the prison of the Six Realms of existence is no easy feat, so we must practice with utmost sincerity. In our Buddhist practice, we should also cultivate profound joy. A human rebirth is hard to attain, and to have karmic affinity with Buddhism, to be able to study the Dharma and possess good roots is inconceivable. To be able to instantaneously transcend the Three Realms is even more so.

 

印光大师为什么称自己叫“常惭愧僧”?我们自己要反省一下,我们的惭愧点是什么。十方佛国净土我们都去不了,因我们业力的缘故,在宇宙里这样一个孤岛,我们自己要去检点、去革除、洗心革面、生惭愧心啊!


Why did Master Yinguang call himself the "Ever Ashamed Monk"? We should reflect on our own sources of shame. We cannot reach the Pure Lands of the ten directions due to our karma, stranded on this isolated island in the universe. We must examine ourselves, rectify our faults, purify our minds, and cultivate a deep sense of shame!

保持内在的清净

Maintaining Inner Purity

大家不看手机非常好,我们能保持心灵的清净是不容易的。如果外在浊恶,那我们更要把内在浊恶的种子减掉。我们天台宗里说“他国作乱,我国清净,”如果你内在清净还好;看着外在乱,看自己内在也挺乱,那就糟糕了。


It is commendable that you all refrain from using phones, as maintaining mental purity is no easy task. When the external world is chaotic and impure, we must further get rid of the seeds of defilement within. As the Tiantai Sect teaches, "While other nations are in turmoil, our nation remains pure." If your inner self remains pure, that is good; but if the external world and your internal mindset are both in disarray, that is truly troubling.


世界的无常相续不断,因为它就是一个无常的世界、无常的人心、无常是它的常态化,没有办法预报的。有部电影里讲到“我没有办法告诉你怎么结束,我只能告诉你怎么开始”。你学到佛法了,你有生命好的开始了,那就行了。


The world's impermanence flows unceasingly, for it is inherently a transient world, marked by the fleeting nature of human hearts – and impermanence itself has become its norm, defying all predictions. As a certain film states, "I cannot tell you how it ends, I can only tell you how to begin." Once you have learned the Dharma, you have made a good beginning in life, and that is enough.

 

佛陀在经典里也讲到,如果一位男性没有体解大道,没有体悟如来藏心,也不名丈夫;哪怕是女性,若能学习佛法,体悟到大道,念着阿弥陀佛,能理解无量光无量寿的真实义,听经闻法,她实际上已经在行持大丈夫法。


The Buddha taught in the scriptures that a man who has not realized the Great Way and comprehended the Tathagatagarbha (the Buddha-nature), cannot truly be called a man. Yet even a woman, if she studies the Dharma, realizes the Great Way, contemplates Amitabha Buddha, understands the true meaning of Infinite Light and Infinite Life, and listens to and learns the Dharma, is in fact cultivating the Dharma of a great man.


世间的人总喜欢算命,但其实改命最重要。用修行来改变命运,为世界输出祥和与安宁。


Worldly people often consult fortune-telling, yet the true priority lies in transforming one’s destiny. Through spiritual cultivation one can reshape fate and bring peace and tranquility to the world.
