The Power of the Buddha and the Power of Mara Lie within a Single Thought

就在一念之间

在修行这条路上，

On the path of spiritual cultivation,

人品是决定我们能走多远的一种标志。

one’s character serves as a measure of how far we can progress.

一个学佛的人，良心恢复了，

For a person practising Buddhism, the restoration of conscience,

人性恢复了，佛性才会现前。

and the restoration of human nature, allows the Buddha-nature to manifest.

有很多人，最后就是靠着人品度过了生命里的重重难关。

Many individuals just rely on their integrity to navigate through life's numerous challenges.

如果能够上下和合、和气一片，

If harmony and kindness prevail, cultivating a spirit of peace,

那么佛法就现前了。

then the Dharma will naturally manifest.

为什么？

Why is this so?

因为能够和合，对治法就现前了，

Because the ability to harmonise allows the methods of counteracting afflictions to become apparent,

我们如理如法的观照就现前了。

so as our contemplation which enables us to observe the principles of the Dharma correctly.

与和合最不相应的是什么呢？

What is the greatest obstacle to harmony?

就是我执、我见。

It is self-centredness and egoistic views.

所以，如果我们能把自己的我执、我见降伏住，

Therefore, if we can subdue our ego and selfish views,

那自然就是和合的过程，就在趋向解脱。

we will naturally progress towards harmony and, consequently, towards liberation.

如果失去正念、失去观照、失去调御，

If we lose mindfulness, fail to contemplate, and lose our self-discipline,

我们就会处于轮回的状态，

we will remain trapped in the cycle of Saṃsāra.

那就是违缘、就是魔力。

This is contrary to our path and is  Mara's power itself.

所以，我们要注意鉴别，

Thus, we must be vigilant and discerning,

佛力、魔力就在我们的一念之间。

for the power of the Buddha and the power of Mara lie within a single thought.

This Dharma passage emphasises the importance of maintaining integrity and harmony in one's spiritual practice, while highlighting the fine line between enlightenment and delusion that resides in every moment of thought.

수행이라는 이 길에서

인품은 우리가 얼마나 멀리 갈 수 있는지를

결정할 수 있는 지표이다.

불법을 배우는 사람은 양심이 회복되고

인성이 회복되어야 불성이 드러나게 된다.

많은 사람들이 인품에 의지하여 생명의

겹겹한 나관을 헤쳐갈 수 있었다.

만약 상하가 화합하고 화기애애할 수 있다면

불법이 나타난다.

무엇 때문인가?

능히 화합할 수 있으면 처리법이 앞에 나타나고

법에 맞는 관조가 앞에 나타나게 된다.

화합과 가장 상응하지 못하는 것이 있다면 무엇일까?

바로 아집과 아견이다.

그래서 우리가 아집과 아견을 항복시킬 수 있다면

자연스럽게 화합의 과정이 이루어지고 해탈을 향하게 된다.

정념을 잃고 관조를 잃고 조어를 잃게 된다면

우리는 곧 바로 윤회의 상태에 처해 있게 되는 바

그것이 바로 인연을 어긴 마력인 것이다.

하여 우리는 조심스럽게 분별해야 하며

불력과 마력은 일념 차이에 달려 있는 법이다.

修行の道で、

人柄は我々がどこまで進められるのかを決めるシンボルである。

仏陀から教えを教わる人は、良心が取り戻され、

人性（じんせい）が取り返されて初めて、仏性が顕われてくるのだ。

大勢の人は、最後はやはり人品（じんぴん）を頼りにして人生の重なる難関を切り抜けるのだ。

もし上下関係が睦まじくさえあれば、

仏法が現れてくる。

何故だろうか。

和らげば、対策が見えてくるからだ。

理に適い如法（にょほう、仏の教えに適う）の観照が見えてくるからだ。

和らぐことと最も合わないことは何だろう。

それは、我執（がしゅう）、我見（がけん）なのである。

だから、もし我々は自分の我執、我見を降伏（こうふく）することができれば、

それは、自然に打ち解けて仲良くするプロセスになり、解脱の方向に向かっている。

もし正念（しょうねん）、観照、調整や収拾を失ったら、

我々は輪廻の状態に置かれてしまい、

それは逆縁、魔力である。

そこで、我々は鑑定する必要があり、

仏力か魔力かは我々の一念の変わりの次第である。
