和合是最底线的修行
To Abide in Harmony Is the Bottom Line of Cultivation
我们学佛,首先要努力成为一个善良的人,一个温和的人,要能跟大众和合共住。
出家人每次半月诵戒都会提到:“同一师学,如水乳合。”就像一滴奶滴到了水里,就没有办法再把它分离出来,我们修行人也要如此。
在道场里,听经闻法、打坐念佛,都是无上吉祥和宝贵的。我们置身于此,要去体察这种幸福,和合一味于其中。
和合特别重要,是最基本的要求。和合了,佛陀正法才住在世间。
To abide in harmony is of paramount importance and is the utmost foundation in cultivation. Only through abiding in harmony can the True Dharma dwell in the world.
佛法虽然说慈悲,可以无遮地慈悲、无极限地慈悲,但必须要有和合的特质。有一个比喻说,“大海虽大,不容死尸”,佛法慈悲广大,却唯独不容许不如理如法的人。违背了法性,就融不进佛法的大海之中。
Immense and compassionate as the Buddha Dharma is, the Buddha Dharma won’t pardon those who don’t act in accord with the Dharma. If they go against the Dharma nature, they won’t find themselves blended with the great sea of the Buddha Dharma.
法的基础就是和合。
没有和合,做什么法都不能成立。

如果一个道场里面有不和合,那就是常住的一个硬伤、缺陷。法的基础就是和合。没有和合,做什么法都不能成立。
The very foundation of the Dharma is to abide in harmony. Without harmony, all that is done can’t be established properly.
做法就有污染,就不圆满。不和合时,僧团就像徒有其表,里面的力量是不存在的。再严重一点,善知识都会没办法住持。和合可以令三宝住世,不和合可以让三宝消失。
Abiding in harmony contributes to the existence of the Three Jewels, while going against harmony can lead to the extinction of the Three Jewels.
佛教里讲“千里寻师,万里寻友”,
“It takes a thousand of miles to pursue the Master, while it takes thousands of miles to encounter a Dharma practitioner.”
道友间和合是很重要的,在我们修行过程当中第一不能违背善知识,第二道友第一亲。
For one thing, we can’t disobey good and wise teachers, for another, we should regard the fellow Dharma practitioners as the dearest.
道友就好像亲兄弟,你家亲兄弟如果闹不和,闹矛盾,父母会心痛,这是天下最残忍的事,同门手足要相互摧残是很不幸的事情。弟子间和合是师父长久住世的好缘起。
Harmonious relations between disciples bring about favourable conditions for the Master's long dwelling in the world.
所以,大家在一起和合共住,这是最现实的修行,也是最底线的修行。和合既是底线,也是高的境界。一个道场能够和合,就有正法,如果不和合,不要说佛法,就连世间法也谈不上。
We can find the True Dharma in the Way Place where harmony exists, or we even won’t have access to the proper worldly law if harmony doesn’t exist, let alone the Buddha Dharma.
因为一个家庭也是“家和万事兴”,人和了,万事才能兴旺。

如水乳合
和合才能于“大道”合一
Only Through Harmony can We Find Our Way to Integrate with ‘The Great Way’.
和合的功德也无量无边地大,只要和合,所有不可思议的殊胜功德都会拥有。
Only through harmony can all the inconceivably excellent merits and virtues will be generated.
反过来说,不和合的罪过也特别特别地重。如果说,和合能够即身转凡成圣,那不和合的罪业,就会让所有的美好立刻消失,吃饭不香了,觉也睡不着了,什么都改变了。
我们想要超越自己的业力、超出众生共业的洪流,要仰仗三皈依体。皈依三宝,具体的表现就是皈依僧团,“皈依僧,息诤论,同入和合海”。
We shall depend on the Body of Three Refuges to transcend our own karmics, flowing beyond the collective karmic torrent of all the beings. Taking Three Refuges is particularly reflected in taking refuge in the Sanga, ‘Take refuge in the Sanga to pacify the disputes, entering into the sea of harmony together’.
和合是非常重要的,它是符合于正法的。修行路上,一个人再有能力,也抵不过业力,还是需要常住的力量、大众的力量,甚至师兄弟间和合的力量来加持。能做到和合,大家在一起就是力量,你即使有点业障,以大众的加持就把你带过去了。修行者和合一味、如水乳合,才会有对抗魔的免疫力,才能够自救。
Only when cultivation practitioners abide in harmony as well blended as water and milk , all in one and one in all, can they become immune to devils, able to be self-liberated.
这不是个人的力量,而是集体的和合的力量。当个人的力量融在“道”里,成为“道”的时候,我们才能超越自我的小的个体,与大道合一。
When individual power integrate with ‘the Way’, becoming ‘the Way’, we will be able to transcend the small individual identity, being one with the Great Way.
无我和合 成就清净刹土
Pure Realms Are Attained by Abiding in Harmony Free from Self-attachment
和合的根本原理,来自于人是没有独立存在的,物是没有独立存在的,所以人无我、法无我。一切法空无自性,一切法皆是因缘,一切法皆因和合而生,这就是宇宙本然。所以,和合就是尊重,就是认知,就是遵循万法之本然。
To abide in harmony is to respect, to perceive, and to comply with the fundamental nature of all phenomena.
“和合”就是无我。无我执的时候,生命呈现的是最阳光的状态。佛的刹土都是以无我的生命状态而成就的。无我和合,这是一种庄严,也是一种加持。我们制造了这种庄严,也受这种庄严的加持。
To abide in harmony is to dwell in a state of no-self . Life presents itself in the utmost shining state when one is free from self-attachment. Buddha realms are attained through the state of no-self. To abide in harmony free from self-attachment is of dignity and is of blessings as well. We bring forth the dignity and in turn blessings of dignity are bestowed on us.
和合所发出的金色亮光,就犹如每一个人放下了自私自利,
Let go of self- interest,
把自己的生命全然地开放之后所点起的菩提心灯一样,这就是一片光光相照的光明的海洋
light the lamp of Bodhi mind.
This is an ocean of illumination, where lights mutually shine upon each other,
我们就能自利利他,就能帮助这个世界。如果有缘分,那就万善并行,利益这个世界,这也是儒家的“达则兼济天下”;如果时机因缘不成熟,那就“独善其身”。
不疑惑,不烦恼,不执着,大家各司其职和合一味,三宝这条船,帆才能鼓得特别漂亮,航向才能准确无误,在轮回的大海上,承载更多的众生驶向彼岸。
